Another great event that took place in San Jose was my
radio appearance on KKUP
91.5 FM. I had the great privilege of meeting the
charming DJ's Uncle Vernon and Aunty Luana! We did a live
radio interview, as well, they were kind enough to play
both "Flower Lei" and "My Hawai'i"...
I had a great time talking story with everyone! I even
had a great breakfast with Uncle Vernon and his wife Betty,
Kaui and Kanoe. Big Mahalo to Uncle Vernon, Aunty Luana
and KKUP!
The best part was meeting my fans face to face! We gathered
at Da Kitchen, a real ono-delicious Hawaiian style restaurant.
After I grinded down my plate of chicken teriyaki, macaroni
salad and two scoops rice, I sang "Flower Lei"
while Kaui and a few of her dancers joined in. I also
sang "Where I Belong" just prior to signing
autographs and selling my "Aloha Miles Away"
CDs. Mahalo to my fans and Da Kitchen for a splendid evening!
HO'IKE
2005 - HAWAII CALLS
Featuring Halau Na Wai Ola
San Jose, California / May 21st, 2005
Ho'ike Festival 2005 with Kumu Kaui Kahaku and her Halau Na
Wai Ola. I am still buzzing from all the good energy and excitement
that I experienced throughout the show and events! Along with
Kaui's amazing hula dancers and staff, I was also treated with
the honor of sharing Aloha with Kaui's husband Anson, her gracious
and entertaining mom Gywne, and of course, her gifted and lovely
daughter Kanoe. Thanks to Kaui and her Ohana, I was given the
best sightseeing tour of beautiful Sunnyvale and other places
in the area. Mahalo nui loa Kaui, I am deeply moved by your
Aloha! You are such a lovely lady!
